P0332: Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2)
Severity: Medium Avoid hard acceleration and heavy engine loads until diagnosed. If there is loud knocking, an oil-pressure warning, or overheating, stop the engine and arrange inspection rather than continuing to drive.
What does P0332 mean?
The computer detects a low signal from knock sensor 2 on bank 2. The fault can prevent the controller from distinguishing normal combustion noise from harmful knock on that side.
Generic OBD-II definition: Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2). Confirm applicability in your vehicle service information.
Common causes
- Signal wiring shorted to ground
- Loose or incorrectly torqued sensor
- Failed sensor or poor connector contact
Symptoms
- Check engine light
- Hesitation or reduced power
- Possible pinging or unusual engine noise
Diagnostic focus
If P0327 is stored as well, look at shared harness routing and connector problems. Two low-signal codes do not automatically justify replacing both sensors.
Can I keep driving with P0332?
Severity: Medium Avoid hard acceleration and heavy engine loads until diagnosed. If there is loud knocking, an oil-pressure warning, or overheating, stop the engine and arrange inspection rather than continuing to drive.
If the check engine light is flashing or the car runs badly, stop driving and have it checked.
Typical fixes
- Inspect the bank 2 knock harness for moisture and corrosion
- Verify mounting torque if the sensor is accessible
- Check the signal circuit and sensor to factory values
