P0757: Shift Solenoid B Stuck On
Severity: Medium Avoid towing, steep loads, and prolonged driving until diagnosed. Stop and arrange recovery if the transmission slips, loses drive, overheats, or bangs into gear; driving through slip can cause further damage.
What does P0757 mean?
Solenoid B appears to remain applied when the controller expects it off. Incorrect hydraulic routing can interfere with more than one gear because the solenoid is part of a combined shift strategy.
Generic OBD-II definition: Shift Solenoid B Stuck On. Confirm applicability in your vehicle service information.
Common causes
- Stuck B solenoid or hydraulic valve
- Contamination in the valve body
- Electrical short maintaining actuation
Symptoms
- Harsh, missing, or incorrect shifts
- Limp mode
- Possible slipping or transmission overheating
Diagnostic focus
A stuck-on diagnosis is different from a stuck-off result. Follow the commanded state and actual gear behavior rather than replacing the same component blindly for either code.
